Central Valley
The first contact with this peaceful land is generally San José, capital of Costa Rica, and headquarters for the major National Museums. Besides, this province is an excellent point of departure for a number of excursions which may take a half, full or several days, according the package that you choose.
San José is located at a height of 1.149 meters above sea level and maintains an average temperature of 24 C with only two seasons: dry and rainy. The dry season gives its first signs at the beginning of November and it ends in the last days of April, when the rainy season begins.
The Central Valley is surrounding by mountains and semi-active volcanoes such as Poás, Arenal and Irazú. Its weather is mild and suitable for farming crops like sugar cane, coffee and vegetables plantations.
