Northern Mountains and Plains
This area is located just few hours away from San Jose downtown, and represents the rural living of the country. The cloud forest of Monteverde is developed in various protected reserves by different associations, where bird watching and hiking are among the most interesting activities of the area. In Monteverde you will be able to be in direct contact with nature: take a hike in any of the trails of the various reserves, visit the hanging bridges, the hummingbird gallery, the serpentarium and/or frog sanctuary.
